BoxTop Software also announced the release of ImageVice 1.1 for Windows. Here’s what they say about it: “ The Windows version of ImageVice now has a fully functional and non-expiring demo that will work with any image. It’s shareware now for all practical purposes and in line with the Macintosh one in that respect now. There are no bug fixes or new features in 1.1, which only makes the demo fully functional. If you have already purchased 1.0, there’s no real reason to download the 1.1 update. If you haven’t tried it grab this version and give it a run for the money. It can help shrink your GIF, PNG, PICT, and BMP files by a mile and works with most plug-in host applications, not just Photoshop.” Travis Anton

BoxTop Software has announced the release of PhotoGIF Illustrator, which the company’s press release describes as, “a special version of PhotoGIF made especially for Adobe Illustrator 6.0 or greater. Now you can go from vector to web without missing a beat (and without needing to rasterize art into Photoshop first saving lots and lots of time and effort).” Travis Anton

Adobe Photoshop is one of the most important graphic design tools for hundreds of thousands of artists and designers, so that any update, no matter how large or small, is an important one. Version 5.5 is definitely one of the larger ones, as Adobe combines two tools in one package...Photoshop 5.5 and ImageReady 2.0. The package clearly targets web graphic designers, so if you do web work, it is a huge improvement. And even print designers will find enough to justify upgrading. Carla Otto
